What is Flipgrid?



Flipgrid app is an app that makes giving homework, measuring readiness level and getting feedback more efficient and enjoyable. With this application, you can ask your students to shoot a video explaining what they know about the subject before they study a subject, or as an evaluation after they have studied a subject, and you can help the whole class learn from each other through the videos they shoot.

How to use?

First of all, you should download the application to your smart device from the App Store if you are an IOS user, and from Google Play if you are an Android user. When you log in to the application, you will see the "Enter a Flipcode" and "Educator Dashboard" options on the screen that will appear. At this stage, you should select the Educator Dashboard option. You can use your Google or Microsoft account when logging in. After connecting to the application, you will see the "Add New Grid" tab on the screen. Click this tab to create your first homework area. You can open more than one topic in the area you created. For example, you can open two different topics, "Metals" and "Plastics" in the Recycling Grid. If you want, you can think of each Grid as a class and collect the topics of each class you teach in class Grids. For example, you can create two different topics named “Global Warming” and “Sustainable Energy” in the 7A Grid. When creating your question, you can add only a written question, or a question asked on an image or video.

What is Storybird? Storybird is a free book creation site. Although its interface is in English, it is very easy to use and is a useful educational tool especially for language teachers such as Turkish, English and German. Students can read created books; They can write their own books, stories and poems. How to use? To read any book published on the Storybird site, it is sufficient to click on the "READ" category at the top when you first enter the site and choose one of the books that appear. If there is a projector or smart board in the classroom, you can easily find a book on the site and read it as a class. However, an account is required to create a book. One of the nice things about it is that the teacher can open an account, create a class, and invite students with the class code. Even parents can be included if desired.
