What is a podcast?

Podcast has been very popular abroad, perhaps for the last 15-20 years, and both the program and the number of listeners are increasing. Contrary to popular belief, Turkey has not met with podcasts. It is even possible to see the first examples in the early 2000s. However, it has become popular in the last few years.

We can actually define the most basic definition of podcast as "Audio blogging". Because each podcast episode is actually an audio content that deals with a different topic. Podcast, on the other hand, is a combination of the words "live broadcast" (broadcast) and pod. In fact, it is a name that comes from broadcasting live recorded broadcasts whenever and wherever they want. However, if we look at the release period, we can see that it is also fully connected with the iPod. Even though it was originally designed to be listened to from iPods, the technology has now been reached to be listened to from any device.

What is Anchor?



Anchor, sometimes referred to as Anchor FM, is a popular podcast platform that offers free podcast recording, editing, hosting, distribution and monetization tools to the public. Using the official Anchor apps or website, anyone can import an existing podcast to take advantage of its tools or create a new audio project from scratch. Anchor apps can also be used to download and listen to podcasts created by others.

 What is Kahoot? What is Kahoot is a website that makes the repetition of the topics covered in the lessons more enjoyable thanks to the joint use of components such as mobile phones, computers, tablets and smart boards. The aim here is to learn in a fun way and to reinforce the course content. You can find content on many courses and topics on the site, or you can also prepare and use a re-exam (quiz) if you want. To summarize, it is an application for interactive online quizzes. Another alternative to Kahoot is Quizizz. In order to use the Kahoot application, we need to create an account. To create a new membership , let's click on the sign up link on the homepage of the Kahoot website . Since we need an account to create Kahoots, let's choose the link as a teacher. After completing your quizzes, your students just need to open any internet browser on their device, connect to kahoot.it and enter the quiz code and names. STORYBIRD

What is Storybird? Storybird is a free book creation site. Although its interface is in English, it is very easy to use and is a useful educational tool especially for language teachers such as Turkish, English and German. Students can read created books; They can write their own books, stories and poems. How to use? To read any book published on the Storybird site, it is sufficient to click on the "READ" category at the top when you first enter the site and choose one of the books that appear. If there is a projector or smart board in the classroom, you can easily find a book on the site and read it as a class. However, an account is required to create a book. One of the nice things about it is that the teacher can open an account, create a class, and invite students with the class code. Even parents can be included if desired.
