WHAT IS SEESAW?



Seesaw is a digital portfolio creation tool. This tool, which can run on Windows, IOS and Android platforms, has an interface that is very easy for students to use. Thus, students can enrich their electronic portfolios by adding photos, videos, drawings, texts and links. Electronic portfolios that support students' learning can be accessed by both students, teachers and parents thanks to the seesaw tool. This is one of the strongest aspects of the seesaw tool because teachers give immediate feedback on student work, while parents get the chance to follow students' work done at school.

It has three platform types:

Student platform

Students log in to the classroom by using the QR code given to them or by their e-mail account opened by their teacher. For this, first "I am a student" is selected and then the class is entered. Students entering the class can take photos and videos for their portfolios, save their drawings, as well as add their work and written notes in the library.

Seesaw's camera waits for the camera to remain still in order to capture a clear image. For this reason, the seesaw application is also easy to use by younger students. In addition, students can record sound, draw and write on the photograph taken. Then the student chooses his name from the class list and adds his work to his portfolio. In addition, he can organize the works he added by saving them in different folders.

By switching to the Feed view, students can see both their own work and the work of their friends, and can give feedback by making audio or written comments.


Teacher Platform

Teachers can log in to the seesaw application with the "I am a teacher" option. If logging in for the first time, the class creation process is performed. For the younger age group, the option to log in via the "QR Code" and for the older age group, via the "Email Account" can be selected.

We can provide the required code to invite students to the class with the "Get class Code" or "Get QR Code" option.

Teachers can change the properties of the class with the "Manage Classroom" option. In addition, more than one teacher can be assigned to the same class by adding different teachers with the manage teachers option in this section.

Teachers, on the other hand, can follow the added work from the whole class view or by selecting a single student, and can make audio or written comments. Seesaw ensures that all work is organized on a single platform in an orderly manner. The teacher's approval is sufficient for the added work to be seen in the student portfolio. Teachers can view portfolios in Seesaw from different platforms. It can be accessed through applications on mobile devices or on the web.


Parent Platform

When teachers approve student work, parents will be notified with an automatic message and will be able to view student work. A completely safe environment is provided as parents can only see their students' work.

What is Kahoot is a website that makes the repetition of the topics covered in the lessons more enjoyable thanks to the joint use of components such as mobile phones, computers, tablets and smart boards. The aim here is to learn in a fun way and to reinforce the course content. You can find content on many courses and topics on the site, or you can also prepare and use a re-exam (quiz) if you want. To summarize, it is an application for interactive online quizzes. Another alternative to Kahoot is Quizizz. In order to use the Kahoot application, we need to create an account. What is Storybird? Storybird is a free book creation site. Although its interface is in English, it is very easy to use and is a useful educational tool especially for language teachers such as Turkish, English and German. Students can read created books; They can write their own books, stories and poems. How to use? To read any book published on the Storybird site, it is sufficient to click on the "READ" category at the top when you first enter the site and choose one of the books that appear. If there is a projector or smart board in the classroom, you can easily find a book on the site and read it as a class. However, an account is required to create a book. One of the nice things about it is that the teacher can open an account, create a class, and invite students with the class code. Even parents can be included if desired.
